Friday May 18 & Saturday May 19

Long, long day!  Laurie had kindly offered to drive Sherry, Trudy and I to the airport. We were there by about 8:15, so lots of time for a 10:30 flight to Toronto. Once again, I'm carrying too much stuff; the bag came in @ 47 pounds.  Not much to say about the  flights other than everything  went well.  Calgary to Toronto.  Quick turnaround (and long  walk) to our flight  to Dublin via St. John's NL.  We had almost 2 hours in St John's to kill, but it was rather nice to have no flight segment  more  than 4 hours.

Once in Dublin we easily found the bus transportation  to the train station. The trip took about 45 minutes  and we found ourselves  at the airport by 9am.  The other 4 (Irene, Nada, Ron and Gary), who had flown in a few days ago, met us at the train station and we caught the 11am train to Killarney.  Enough people stayed awake to successfully make the train change at Mallow and we arrived in Killarney shortly before  2:30.

Dave, the taxi driver, was at the train station to meet us and take us "home" to Dirreen House.  This is Irene's home exchange, and we will be here for 2 weeks.

When  we arrived at the house John the bike rental guy was already there starting to get our bikes ready for us.  Some of us swapped out pedals and saddles, and made some adjustments, before declaring them ready to go and sending John on his way.

A little relaxing........

Then a run to the grocery  store followed by a dinner of pizza and salad.  And finally....... bed. It's been a long time since I've slept that soundly!
